The Foodie File: Caramel Apples
Getting family to enjoy cooking together is something all of the food editors here at Canadian Living are passionate about. So when one of our readers sent us photos from her family’s Thanksgiving weekend, I thought I would leave today’s blog to Erika Tipping to inspire you all…
October 2007 Family Thanksgiving at the cottage involved a lot of games and activities. One of our activities was to make the caramel apples featured in your magazine. We bought fresh apples from the market to start us off. We had the time to make these scrumptious sticky treats and our efforts were rewarded! Yummy!
We each made our own caramel apple (13 of us) and devoured them the same day. My kids, nieces and nephews raved about them all weekend, and I did too! My daughters want to make them again some day, and I am sure we will. We particularly enjoyed the leftover caramel – who knew it would be so ooey-gooey good!
In the picture is my daughter Brianna, then me and in the background is my nephew Kurt. My sister Kim Upton took the picture.
Thanks CL!
