Strawberry Reminder
This isn’t exactly a find but I have been looking out for local strawberries and they have been late arriver’s this year across Canada (that late start on the warm weather hasn’t been a happy thing for early crops). But I have spotted my first Ontario strawberries just in time for Canada day weekend. I just got off the phone with our web director Cath and she assures me that she has been picking and stocking the freezer with the juicy gems out west as well. Make sure you take advantage they won’t be around for long.

Now if only there is a little rhubarb left around to make a pie…

We are having our annual strawberry gorging party tonight and I would love to know what everyone’s favourite strawberry recipes are. We’ll serve the traditional strawberry shortcake, my friend Trish will bring her heavenly angel food cake and Joanne will make her lemon loaf. Looking for more inspiration!
