Apetite For Opera; a Czech Inspired Dinner
I just heard about this foodie event and thought I would share it with you because it sounds fun. This Thursday, January 22nd Executive Chef Kreg Graham of Tundra Restaurant at the Toronto Hilton will host 2009’s first “Appetite for Opera.” He will be featuring a special Czech-inspired menu to complement Antonin Dvořák’s Opera, Rusalka playing at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts (situated across from the restaurant).
The Opera is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s story, Little Mermaid. Throughout the evening, Chef Graham and COC representative Robert Morassutti will share their insights into food, wine, and opera and the Little Mermaid fable. A special cocktail has been created by the team at Tundra called The Witch’s Brew, inspired by the spell cast by Ježibaba, to transform Rusalka into a mortal woman, so she can find fulfillment of her love’s dream.
I love a theme dinner and this one sounds like it is going to be good – unfortunately I can’t make it that night but if any one does, please post a comment and let us know how it was!
