Ricotta Cookies with Cream Cheese Icing

This recipe was derived from my sister Nancy’s friend Cristen Sirignano-Irving from Connecticut. Nancy had taken on this recipe and made it a part of her Easter tradition and the recipe has since traveled to Canada and has become a part of the family brunch.

Fresh Ricotta Cheese, an Italian Easter Tradition

It occurs to me as I’m out running errands that I had better pick up the ricotta cheese because everything will be closed tomorrow. Daniela Payne, web editor and author of the Green Living Blog, asked her Irish grandmother to share with me one of Daniela’s favourite childhood foodie memories. This recipe is as simple and as yummy as can be. Daniela’s dad says [...]

Ricotta Cheesecake Step-by-Step

This is the traditional cheese tart my family makes for Easter. It’s served at brunch on Easter morning with lots of other eggy, bready, cheese-y dishes. Every year as it’s tasted, everyone comments on the flavour of the filling, the crust, the texture – Is it too dry? To wet? Too sweet? Not enough lemon? [...]
